Hi everyone - good to contact fellow owners over the net.

Just puchased an A6 Quattro 2003 and I think that I have suspension problems at the front. It looks like the front links are worn and need replacing - I suspect that this is a common fault as the new A6 has a multipoint suspension system that is broadcast as a great improvement on my one. Still - you get what you pay for.

I have never owned a car as modern as this before but I have an MG Midget, Morris 1000 and am expert at Peugeot 205's. What can I actually do on a car like this? Looking at the front bits it does not look very different from many other cars I have worked on but I imagine the parts will be three times as costly. Do I need special tools?

I want to get hold of a manual but I gather Audi do not encourage this as they like to do the servicing but Americain imports are available at some cost.

Apart from this problem it looks like a great car and a lovely drive - I particularly like the air suspension but no doubt it costs an arm and a leg to replace.

    Enjoy the weekend!

    Ian

The suspension is a bit complex on the front and has a tendancy to bend parts etc. I Think the haynes Manual for the older A4/A6 should give you enough info to service it yourself.
