My 1st Audi........Work safe but keep broody women away!!

When I took the car to Audi the other day to have the damage assessed, i took my son with me for some quality man time and to begin his education in to all things Audi.

We were there about 3 hours and he was very well behaved. We looked at some cars, we looked at some TV, we charmed the Lady's on reception and we interacted with an 8 month old baby girl who came in with her mother for a retest on her A4.

Just as we were finishing up and waiting for the wife to collect us, the branch manager came over and commented on how well behaved my son had been. I was gob smacked at the comment and thanked him very much as this was the 1st time I'd received a comment on my sons behaviour. I said that Daniel liked very much the silver car just round the corner by the stairs.

With this the Manager went away, shortly to return with said silver car.
Before we left I said to my son that we'll have to put it back before we go home. It was at this point that I was told the car was for my son to keep.

I'll not forget what he said to me...
"Its very easy and not always nice to take your money, it is however nice to give something back. The car is for your son, thank you for your business" or words to that effect.

Once again I was gob smacked a 2nd time.

When we collected my car today, we thanked the manager a 2nd time. We still can't believe it.

Restores your faith in human nature (and Audi dealers ;)). Just goes to say that they're only human beings in dealerships, and if you treat them nice, they will be more forthcoming to you.

However Ben, just wait until little one is walking. ;) Mine was as good as gold until she realised that now she can walk, now anything else is 2nd best. I've still got the scars on my face after picking her up to cross the road on Sunday. :aargh4:

Shame Daniel didn't say he liked the R8!! You could have walked away with one of those :D

Seriously though- that is quality customer service, I can't imagine the toy Audi is cheap to buy.

Just hope that you have not opened the flood gates for unscroupulous parents to visit Lister Audi demanding luxury rides;).

the trailer is £35 in the dealer and the car is £65 both in red or silver. The pedal car is around the £265 mark.

Have you already asked the trade-in value of the silver car against a pedal car?;)

sounds like a fantastic dealer, hope all the others look at this and take note, we had a few probs when buying from a dealer but they new they where in the wrong and did everything they could to say sorry, even a huge bouquet of flowers, just bet your gutted now because your son has a newer audi than you :arms:

It's nice to hear of a decent dealer (and I would guess, a decent person)!

This attitude does a lot for their sales and service - you will be happy to go there and not to an indy next time something happens (and he will probably do quite well out of the current problem!). That may sound cynical, but it's not meant to be - it's just that good service gets its reward and it's just a shame that so many others don't realise that! I'm speaking as someone who's VW agency has changed three ownership times in four or five years and I only go there for oil, filters and things I can't get elsewhere! My local garage gets all my work - they are not VW experts, but the service is excellent and reasonably priced.

I have to agree with Ben Coventry Audi are fantastic - I have been buying cars from them for 10 years my own and the companies and they do know how to treat customers

Nice touch and I thought all dealer were just money grabbers.
I hope that he has the "quattro" model.

HID's and a re-map must be first on the list, then some lower profiled tyres, but seriously it is nice to see any business taking care of their customers,and while we are praising Audi .
dealers I must add that East Kent Audi at Canterbury Kent are consistantly excellent in providing quality service and so far reasonable rates

Yup, I have nothing but praise for Croydon VW, great service, and always with a smile.

Sadly I'm currently a V**xh*ll owner now, nut I'd certainly come back to VAG when I'm ready for the next car and can afford one. :D

Well, while we are all singing praises for the dealers I'll chime in.....

I have 2 dealers in my vicinity Gasgow Audi and Stirling Audi.
Glasgow Audi - not so much for me. Although its a much bigger and fancier dealership, there's just something missing

Quite the opposite at Stirling Audi - the people are so friendly, from the Sales + Service manager to the parts manager, service reception and the techs whom I've met. All polite and always willing to go the extra mile and usually at a very reasonable price. I've been surprised by a few prices here n there to be honest, but usually in a good way as I seem to expect much higher charges.

Speaking about loyal service a friend of mine received an R8 pen recently for 'being a loyal customer' from Audi UK. Im on my second car and didn't get one of those... :(

I brought my current car from Walton Audi which I found to be excellent and offered me an outstanding rate compared to all the dealers located around the M25 area. I have recently been to Crawley Audi (to enquire about an A3 Cab they had) and seems like they don't want to be tarnished with the 'arrogant audi dealerships' brush. Even the sales exec admitted this to me. He also said about how he went to another dealer near to where he lives to look at an S3 (before he worked for Audi) and felt completely judged. Pretty much the same signs and symptoms ranted about Audi dealerships on this forum. Ignored calls, etc.

Yep, I've always found them prompt and polite.
