That will be the little speaker in the instruments, not a spare part in the usual sense but repair specialists can deal with it.
Sorry for the late reply.
I opt to ignore this as remedy requires removal of the cluster which is a bit scary for me.
I'm back with serious issue.
Now the turn signals don't work at all, no sound as well as signal lights not coming on ( on the dash or outside). Incidentally, hazards working perfectly.
Any ideas appreciated.
You need to do some diagnostic work now including observing the switch positions as the BCM sees the.
Ran VCDS and got the following error code;
Address 16: Steering wheel Labels: 8K0-953-568.clb
Control Module Part Number: 8K0 953 568 D HW: 8K0 953 568 D
Component and/or Version: Lenks.Modul H17 0014
Software Coding: 000000
Work Shop Code: WSC 06325 000 00000
VCID: 3B7582EBBA65A94BDE-806E
1 Fault Found:
00886 - Turn Signal Switch (E2)
014 - Defective - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00101110
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 98
Reset counter: 1
Time Indication: 0
Also, went through the electrical circuit and can't see any connection between E2 -turn signal switch and the J519 (BCM?) though J519 connects with both the front turn signal lights.
The turn signal binary value goes to the steering column controller and then by CAN BUS signal to the BCM.
Hmm..
I can see only a connection to the J623 (ECM) from J527 (STEEERING CONTROL MODULE). That's for the Cruise controller, I guess. My car is not equipped with cruise control.
Can I spray WD40 or contact cleaner through the signal lever opening?
WD40 can leave a sticky deposit on electrical contacts, I have even seen small relay contacts insulated from each other and stuck together from over-zealous use of it by my assistants in outdoor electric control panels. Try contact cleaner.
It seems to me that the contacts may be dirty or damaged. If you take off the switch to clean the contacts, DO NOT USE ABRASIVE ON THEM. They have a silver coating which may become discoloured, but this does not affect their function. Just use a clean cloth moistened with a solvent such as contact cleaner, lighter fluid (naphtha) or white spirit.
Thanks.
I'm trying my best 'not to remove/dismantle' anything. No experience with airbags etc. Must try contact cleaner first.
Tried contact cleaner but no luck.
No luck with contact cleaner.:mad:
A used part available, part no 8K0953503BD but the problem is with headlight high beam actuation. My existing lever when pushed down (for high beam) it stays there and the this one when pushed down returns back to middle position. Will it work with my car?
Also I don't have cruise control but this one has cruise control lever too.
Any help appreciated.
What is the VIN?
Hi,
it's WAUZZZ8K5CA091060
No it won’t work, you need 8K0 953 502 AT 4PK but I can’t see it being the problem, that correct step is to use a diagnostic system to check the switch positions in the body control unit.
I have VCDS but not much familiar with it.
Please tell me how ' to use a diagnostic system to check the switch positions in the body control unit' .
Thanks
Register your VCDS interface with Ross Tech and get verified, we can go from there and you can get dedicated help on the Ross Tech forum. Post a full scan of your car using the save as a txt function and include the VIN.
I have a Chinese copy so not possible to register there.
Not possible to get help from me either...
Oh dear.:confused:
Sorry but its the only cheap alternative.
Buy a genuine VCDS cable for $200, get verified with the Ross Tech forum and then we can help; until then no help on this forum

It will be double this amount with import duty, not possible at this time.
To be exact;
200 +postage 133 + import duty 330 = about 660 USD.
Checked the BCM inputs on the turn signal lever and any position no signal received by the BCM.
My thinking is that the turn signal lever is kaput. Since I have to remove everything to replace it , thought of adding 'cruise control' too.
Can someone confirm the following parts will go with my car;
existing part nos;
8K0953568D and 8K0953502AT
I'm looking at (on ebay) :
4H0953568H and 4G8953502A
Thanks in advance.
