I have had a very slight rattle at times from the air con, I think. Might be behind the wheel, it’s went away tho! Going to take it in if it continues or comes back:
I agree very annoying. I’ve had my car for 8 months now and have started getting an intermittent rattle but I can’t figure where it’s coming from. I thought it was the speaker above the dashboard, but it could be the virtual cockpit surround
I checked again tonight, You are correct the noise is coming from the surround of the virtual cockpit. I guess that means a visit to Audi now I know where it’s coming from
Let us know how you get on. Other than the occasional rattle the car has been great, a total pleasure to drive!

Car went into Audi. sound deadening tape and new fasteners were added at the bottom of the virtual dashboard. However the noise is back again but I think the vibration is coming from the top of the virtual dashboard. It’s booked in again for The second week in SeptemberQuote:

Mine went in last week, they took it off and refitted it with felt backing and seems to have fixed it. They also found another rattle right down behind the centre console which they did the same too. Also found a fault with the springs that assist the tailgate opening so they need replacing next week under warranty. Might be worth you guys checking mine had started to creak on opening.
Mine seems to rattle somewhere around the virtual cockpit and the main dashboard screen, but it only happens when it really hot so doesn't happen often;).
I have a creak on my A7 similar area. I think it maybe the strips of chrome above the air central vents.
I think that’s the same as mine, if I push that area it goes away for a while. Annoying
My dash was taken out and tape added in. Initially it came out with new rattles but touch wood they have stopped and it seems to be better. I’ll keep an ear on it for a bit and hope that is the end of it. Suspect it won’t be, seems to be better when the sun isn’t impacting the flex/fit.
Did everyone get theirs sorted? Mine comes and goes now, definitely better but toying with the idea of sending it back in.
Mine is the same, comes and goes. A lot better than it used to be. I think it’s a design flaw so not sure if it will ever be solvable completely
The rattle is now fixed on mine albeit the car had to go in second time before the noise disappeared. It was a dashboard issue and tape was applied to resolve it
I’m toying with putting mine in again, the centre rattle seems to have migrated to the right hand side now. So annoying.
Agreed, part material/part fit I think. I had a few digital glitches in the early days that were resolved with an update and now really enjoying the car. Can’t help but think the dash is a bit cheap tho!

Yes my 2019 Black Edition has the annoying noise from behind the VC. Been at my local dealer (Boston, Lincs) for 2 and a half days and originally they said they couldnt find anything at all, but when I collected today they said they had found some 'metal rails' that were causing it, and they had installed some felt tape. I asked if they had driven it to check was all resolved, they said yes. On driving home was ok for about 10 miles then it was back worse than before. I just cannot believe this, I spend over 35k on my dream motor after waiting 20 years to be mortgage free and I am not impressed. Just wondered if anyone on this thread or the site as a whole has had this issue resolved fully. If so can you recommend the dealer please as I am willing to travel to get this sorted. Have no confidence in local dealer now. Just waiting for the follow up survey, getting both barrels.

I have owned a 2019 C8 S Line Avant from new.
I too have had the rattle, but very intermittent, I might add.
I believe the dash design does not lend to a dash that will not rattle.
Lots of materials coming together. Heat, cold, body flex. Basically not ideal.
I have not taken mine to the dealer as I'm not a fan of dash/ consoles being taken apart. 9 times out 10 comes back worse & you find damage that that dealer has caused.
I had the car running through all the Audi assist warnings, I also had a more serious one when I used the hand break rather than Audi hold that killed the car when going to take off. Had to turn the ignition off and on again to clear the warning. It was a known fault seemingly when Audi road side assist came out the second time, it all happened 4/5 times however and my car went in about 3 weeks ago and since been fine. Not sure what version of update it is but would be assuming it’s the latest. The guy said it was only rolled out the day before... something along those lines. My garage is actually really good in fairness, just the car itself has its niggles. My third Audi, 2 A4’s before that had less niggles to be quite honest.
Some has got airbag replace to fix this problem . I dont care i drove saab before 🤣
Sorry to hear all this issues. I am very happy as I do not have any of this problems, seems like that the cars build before lockdown tend to have all sort of issues. My Audi was build end of July 2020, collected the car in September, and runs great :D
