Ordered my new VW Golf!

Well......that's me put my deposit down on my new Golf at the end of May!!

It's a 1.4 VW Golf 'Match' TSI 3dr in solid black & the dealer said initially I should be getting it in around 12-13 weeks as it's a factory order - it'll be worth the wait though.

The dealer said the car was on build week 27 & he said that in customer language that means it was built in the first week of July.

This is taking much less time than I thought it would - chuffed to bits!

Yesterday the Dealer called & said my car has left the factory & is currently on the boat over to the UK!

Considering its build week (27) only commenced on Monday this week, that is pretty rapid from building the car to actually dispatching it - well chuffed!!

Still looks like end of this month for delivery/collection. So, that's been 5 weeks from order to shipping - very quick turnaround!

I don't think you will be disappointed the TSI 1.4 Match is a little cracker, just the right amount of kit.

I picked mine up at the end of May and find myself going the long way home because its a car that makes you smile and you want to drive it!

I've racked up 800 mile now since new and it returns around 45 to the gallon, plenty of go buts sips the juice.

P.S word of advice ......don't use the boot keyfob..............You can lock your keys in the boot as I found out....... locked keys in boot.Doh!!

I ordered mine 20 May 2011, It was built on 4 July and Delivered on 21 July. Sounds like very similar timings to yours.

loved mine best car ive ever had just drank petrol cost me a fortune got mk tdi 1.6 match know 3dr steel grey much easier on the pocket and didnt pay much more than a petrol for it

Just had my brand new golf turn up. it took 12 weeks from order to finish and i had a few options added too so pleased with that. dealer quoted 20 weeks. changed it from a mk5 2.0sdi. Just a little different! (not that the SDI was bad)

like you wouldnt beleive! 740 miles in the first week and it just gets better and better. I forgot what torque was!

I always thought that engine was a bad match for the Golf 5. They should have put the 1.4 TDI out of the Polo in there- same PS, more torque, better fuel economy.

Well, in all the excitedness with my new Golf - I've forgotten to add some pics of it!
Gave it a spruce up at the weekend, it didn't need much doing to it as I'd already washed it 1 week previously.
So it got:

2 bucket method
1 layer of Autoglym HD Wax on the bodywork
2 layers of MER Polish on the numberplates
Turtle Wax Wet 'n' Black tyre shine
Turtle Wax Alloy Wheel Clean

Look good, not many 3dr Golfs about.

You will find alot of GTI's are 3 door as they say they look cooler than 5 door.
