One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. No one in power dare criticise Mandela, the press and the bleeding heart sycophants would destroy their careers in an instant. He has reached almost Saint like levels of adoration and blindness to some of the more unpalatable facts.
I need to do more research because I'm coming at this from a position of ignorance. I'm just too young to remember the days before he became a hero across the world.
What makes me laugh is that some people put on their facebook pages, things like: "if this poppy/flag offends you, please feel free to pack your bags" & lots of other posts about immigrants respecting our country after moving here. Then they say things like "Mandela's dead then, once a terrorist, always a terrorist". Judging by their facebook posts, they're just the kind of people who would want a Mandela figure in Britain if we were overrun by immigrants who started running the country & treating us as second class citizens. I guess it depends whether you're the one who's being mistreated as to whether you agree with the actions of a freedom fighter/terrorist.
As I said though, I don't know what he did in the earlier days, so I'm not saying you guys are wrong in my view. And I suppose running farmers off their land is kind of Mugabe-like & I want that b*****d shot.

Never happen mate, those priques are safer than you or I. They will be well treated and their human rights will be upheld. They will get education and recreation as well as radio, TV, books, papers, visitors etc. Remember the 2 kids that killed little Jamie Bulger? They were given new identities and quietly released. At least one was a recidivist, and re-offended even tho he was locked away for rehabilitation for years. After doing another cushy stretch he got a second new identity and is on his merry way again. The authorities won't allow these guys in with the general population and when this dies down in a few years they'll be out and nobody will know who they are. They should have got the double tap when they were captured. My 2/- worth.Quote:
