adaption function 10 channel 81
Printable View
Ok, had enough tonight, time for beer. Before I do tho;
DIS and Cruise both function ok, I've driven the car 6 miles or so now and the ESP light remains on with intermittent flashing of the TPMS....
So as per advice, I've reset the learning code channel 081 to 00111 and saved it. I just dont have a "login 11" button on address 03 (ABS ctrl module). That button changes as vcds accesses the module and it visibly changes to "coding II 11". The button to the right of this also says "coding"
In measured blocks address 3, the steering angle says "0" and doesn't move as I'd expect when the wheel is turned?
I've replaced the stalks and SWCM for a -N, I've yet to refit the airbag until I'm sure I dont need to take the SWCM out again.
I may try the old swcm in again tomorrow unless theres something else to try..
Thanks A8...starting the motor and using the "security" login worked, it allowed me to follow the rest of the process and reset the steering angle, ign off and on, ESP light now out.:beerchug:
The TPM is strange, without it fitted its strange to see how the dash could interpret anything from the bus to place the tpm light on and off...
On a +ve note, my retro fitted RNS-E, cruise and DIS all work..thx to the forum and percy verence. maybe time to remove the filament from the tpm warning lamp on the dash !
Have you checked adaptation channel 61?

chan 61 is 3331 sharky.
Doesn't look like it's that then!
3331 is correct without tpms so its not that, sorry shark just seen your answer
No, bummer, I enabled tpms and got the DIS warning, confirming the setup, then removed it and the DIS is normal but the tpm dash still flashes. Must be dash problem then? Are the filaments easy to get at?
Just go over your wiring mod as Bez also had this issue but he was playing about with the wiring at the steering column, also if you and bez can confirm if the steering column control units are second hand and the software versions in address 17 try to post a full scan test.
Check measured value 130 in address 17 you should see 0 in the first block as its not fitted if you see 1 then you need to check the wiring from steering column control unit and the dash mainly the can wires if theses are ok i would suspect the steering column control unit is defective or your mfi switch because this is the circuit you send the driver instruction by pressing the switch then steering column control process the switch command and sends the signal in byte form over the can network which goes to the dash and shows the driver the information you requested like mpg,so if the tpms light comes on for no reason and infotainment can has not been enabled in channel 61 then there is a switch command corruption if the tpms comes on without pressing the mfi swith then it has to be the steering control unit if its only when you press the switch its either of them.B7 and B6 switch should be p/n 4E0 953 503 C AVANT or 4E0 953 503 B for saloon
So to summarise if the dash shows the tpms light check mvb 130 if this is flicking between 1 and 0 you have switch signal command telling the dash to illuminate the warning light where value 1 in mvb 130 indicates tpms is showing on the can network even though it isn't fitted if it flickers this is a dead give away for poor connection/corrupt command leading you back to the steering column control unit as the dash mod for pin1 is only for washer level and its just returning 31 track
Depending on your location i have various steering control units that you can try for free but if this is a B7 index Q(R is ok it supersedes Q) would be the suggestion and now have two of these units i am away at the moment and my internet connection will be lost as of tomorrow for at least 1 week
Ok, understood. firstly, my SWCM is second hand and I havent touched the wiring for the washer level yet so consequently It displays washer warning on DIS right now. Just to clarify, the TPM warning is the amber one adjacent to turn signal indication on the main dash panel, not the DIS dedicated warning symbology.
I'll scan shortly and post up, MVB etc..
