Passat 2L TDI Turbo Whine

can i ask why you went to a solicitors and not a garage, im sure a new turbo from a garage would be alot less than £50.000 to replace

I did go to the garage so the mechanic took it for a test drive and couldn't hear anything.

So I went to the solicitors for a second opinion.....

ahh right, fair enough, sorry it read like you asked the solicitor if your turbo was gone, i take it you went to see if you could claim for damages if and when your turbo goes bang?

....well, my wife often does go bang but I try not to be there when it happens.....
