Re: To buy?
still looking for a tdi?
mine has got high mileage, and is not in the best of conditions on the outside.
but the timing belt was gone at 161,000ish (and has full service history, with one attempt from me). just changed oil and filter yesterday and car is now at 186k.
i have spent loads on this, but you will need new pads all round, and power sterring rack is leaking. I have had a full inspection, and i wont lie to you, i will list everything wrong with the car (if your still interested), but trust me when i say, this car is still a fab drive. i have done 36,000miles in the last 18months, with good fuel consumption.
Have changed all fluids in my time, pollen filter, k&n (not totally ruined the maf) - kaz car stil goes into 3 figures. i have used a heavy foot at times, but this car only let me down twice (and once was my fault). fan belt tensioner broke, which was replaced with the timing belt and pulleys and tensioner n all.
Car is black, and SE model. A few scratches which i will sort out, bonnet with stone chips/rust and one alloy in need of refurb - but cheap repalcements can be found on ebay from time to time. theres a post on here somewhere where i listed all the work i have done. and its a lot frankly.
car interior is spotless apart from small rips in carpet, but have put new mats in from ebay. audio is upgraded, (kenwood headunit still under guareentee- 4months left, and kenwood 640w sub and amp. and rear speakers have been upgraded to jbl 2 months ago)
It does have occasional problem with immobliser (common fault, loads of threads on here about that) but just take the key out n put it back in and it starts. the car has always started first time, and i have used quality parts. (oil was £18.99).
anythin else ask me, full service history, no lights apart from immobliser come on ( and all the lights come on when you turn the key) i have also replaced several bulbs behind the dashboard. Car is 96' P and i'm the third owner.
let me know if your interested, cosindering how much iv done to it, id want about £1000 to be honest. but i dont knw how it's really worth at all to be honest. I paid 1700, and probably spent that again (had 2 timing belts put in, as somebody else who had timing belt put in from my first mechnic had problems with his, and i checked mine and it was rubbing so immeditealy got that changed at a top garage)
FSH timing belt done not so long ago. reliable car, will need new pads soon, but discs have been changed within last 12months. power steering leak is quite moderate, but i just keep topping the oil up.

Re: To buy?
Paid £1500
I'm the 3rd owner, 115,000 miles, 1.9 TDI SE 110 in Ruby Red
Years MOT no advisories.
I'd hazard a guess at £1k being about right for yours?
