had a look but it's not much use......there's nothing in the long code helper relating to media input/interfaces.
Re: struggling with AMI part numbers
Press the 'down arrow' on your keyboard and on that screen and it will move along the bytes ;)
Re: struggling with AMI part numbers
I know, nothing there relating to media just other MMI menu stuff......
Re: struggling with AMI part numbers
Ahh okay.
Are there many blank spaces? Ie tick boxes but with no text beside them?
Re: struggling with AMI part numbers
From memory I don't recall seeing any without text. TBH I don't think VCDS has access to the subsystems within the 5F, unless someone knows how?
Edit... just googled some of the subsystem part numbers and they're just switch panels and map data so maybe we're looking in the wrong place for AMI and similar??

come out of the green screen and reboot mmi
now test the ami
Now the bold text is the element to enable AMI via the green/service menu not VCDS ... from my own meddling in green/service menu of MMI 2G you can change coding/adaptations in other modules of car ...
Only way c4a5er you will know if its a coding change or adaption is to scan codings/adaptions with and without AMI enabled and compare, if there are no labels/helper balloons to tell us in VCDS ...

So Roy do you have AMI? regardless of answer does your module support the coding for AMI?
If you don't mind and have time can you check relevant module for coding/adaptations/drop down boxes/helper balloons, etc, etc ...
Roy has a 2009 vs revver's 2010 , if Roy's support it then revver's should in theory as it is newer and will have newer 5f/software...

I do have AMI.

Thanks for that Roy :) ...
We now need revver's info once he has a scan ...
I'm being cautious with information as I do not wish anyone to have any issues from meddling ...

I have misinterpreted this section of A8 Tech's instructions :Blush2: ...
What it means is that if you do the AMI MMI 3G retrofit DIY @ home when you go for a dealer software update which is MMI related it will be undone and you will need to recode it again ...
This occurs due to how when car is plugged into VAS and communication occurs between it and VAG server it will recode car to what it had out of factory, ie no AMI ...
