I was then told that the download WASN'T available online & that I'd have to take it in to a dealer (30 miles away) to have it updated at a cost. The car is less than 6 months old and it's a bit of a bummer to spend 40k on a car to then have to pay to get the map updated.... Ah well, the joys of owning an Audi!
Will let you know how I get on tomorrow when the 25.7Gb download has completed :o
Re: 2020 Map Update Download
I am about to try the same in a few days. So how did it go? :)
I guess the link above is for the whole of Europe, right? Or just EU member counties?
Thanks!

Having problems downloading it - it starts OK than stops around 1 - 1.5Gb (varies) with an error message "Failed - network error". I've tried 3 different browsers (Firefox, Chrome & Opera) with the same result every time. I'm currently using Windows 10 but I've also tried on an ancient PC running XP but again the same problem. I don't think it's an issue with my broadband as I get about 15-20 Mbps and when it is downloading the file it comes in at around 2.2 Mbps. Anyone any suggestions?
Question for andyhud007 - do you have the file on a cloud server, e.g. Dropbox or Google Drive that I could download it from?
Incidentally the file I'm trying to download is 25.7Gb which is way more than the file on the SD card in my car which is only 12Gb so I'm assuming it covers an even greater area than mine. My file DBinfo.txt is dated 04/12/18 and says:
PartNumber1="V03959802LE"
ApplicationSoftwareVersionNumber="0043"
SystemName="ECE 2019/2020"
Variant="ECE"
ReleaseName="2019/2020"
DevVersion="P43_N60MIBSCALE1_EU_NT_Q3.18"
Re: 2020 Map Update Download
I followed the link and downloaded yesterday, let it run overnight and all good 27Gb.
Win10, 64Bit, Google Chrome, my internet speed is only 8GB as still on telegraph pole!

At last I got the download to work! Do I just unzip the file to a SD card and put it in SD slot 1 to replace the existing Audi nav sd card?
Re: 2020 Map Update Download
I'm just about to try the update too, so had the same questions. Also does the SD card have to be 32GB or is bigger OK as well?
Thanks
Tim
Re: 2020 Map Update Download
YES , Unzip to a 32Gb SD card and insert in one of the slots in car, it should update by itself I think.
Assuming your navigation licence has not expired of course.
Re: 2020 Map Update Download
The direct downloads are bigger because they include MIB1 and MIB2 folders for a variety of different VAG cars, whereas the myAudi java downloader just pulls down what is required for Q7 4M.
Also if car didn't recognise the update after it's been downloaded and unzipped to sd card, then that possibly means your map license (FeC codes) have expired for newer maps. UK cars come with an entitlement for 5 free updates, but it's time based. So if you choose not to update you don't get any longer. Essentially you get 2.5 years from manufacturing date.
