Unfortunately CR engines still carried 77mm hex oil pump shaft and vehicles as new as 2012 still have failing oil pumps.

The best mod is to use 1.9TDI PD130 oil pump. It's an engine out job, but it will never fail again.

Is there any engine which doesn't carry that issue? If yes how can I find out which one I got?

2.7 and 3.0 doesn't have a problem ;)

All 2.0tdi have the same pump.

Is there any sign if the oil pump has already made a damage?

Can I do anything to prevent it to fail (something other than the 1.9TDI mod)

Nope, it's failed or not. It's around £600 to sort this issue. I think KMB parts direct can supply modified pump with 100mm hex shaft.
