Re: Front wipers failed and won't work [1.9tdi][06]
I see your views, but could someone explain logically why is this mechanism £235?
Is it made of platinum? Or did NASA design it?
I am not even planning to waste my time with audi garage regarding this. This kind fault is unacceptable and there are way too many silly (£235) things going wrong with the car.
Her first and last audi/vag.

Genuine part, 2 yr guarantee, top quality.
Buy cheap you buy twice my friend. I've been stung too many times.

Wasn't it top quality in the first place?
2 year guarantee and it will go wrong again in the third year.

The original part is 8 years old, things dont last forever, even Audi parts.

It actually was replaced a few years back already. The previous owner serviced it at audi garage and spent thousands....
Can I get a different model number and will it fit? If so, what do I need to look at?
Please don't suggest audi garage. That is never going to happen.
Re: Front wipers failed and won't work [1.9tdi][06]
Fixed.
Cost: £0
Tools: Welder
I can't understand how you can justify the cost of £235 for this piece of ****. Do you really go to the audi garage and spend thousands on those silly things?
Anyways, I will be selling it if anybody's interested :P
Re: Front wipers failed and won't work [1.9tdi][06]
I can do the same as you can but very few people have their own MIG and know how to wield it plus get the system out to do the job, I have spent six hours today twisted at odd angles making repair plates and butt welding and sanding them down for an invisible in bare metal repair but again, few people know how to do this. Yes when it is a customer’s car you fit the assembly because to weld it up is a bodge, if it broke a linkage it did it for a reason, usually a seizing spindle and to have YOUR work fail for the customer (even years later, I have customer’s who’s cars I have looked after for 30 years) on a wet dark road miles from nowhere does not do much for business, if you fit a genuine complete unit it is extremely unlikely to fail in the next 100K miles and if it does it is the responsibility of Audi UK (if your local Audi dealer could give a ****, NOTTM AUDI!), not yourself. Also seeing a welded up linkage would make a savvy car buyer think "hummmmm, where else have corners been cut due to cost cutting?".
