Hi Ross. I'm no expert on this ( I was hoping that you would be posting a success story!!). Are your issues that same as mentioned in the thread? My issue is: uneven idle ( as if the engine is phantjng!!) and very tough running between 1500 and 2000 rmp ( as if the engine was trying to climb its way out of the bay! The whole car shakes). The "general" agreement is that its a signal "conflict/issue" going back to the ecu with the offenders being either the injector pump or injector no 3 and the fail safe of cutting the wire seemed to resolve it!
afriad I can't add any suggestions. Keep us posted.

The function of the speed sensor and getarounds are discussed on p3 +p4 of this thread. I know the correct fix for the speedo problem is to strip and clean or find some way of flushing the injection pump head. Cutting the wire or disconnecting the instruments or pulling the instruments fuse should give an improvement, if you have the filings/swarf in the pump head. If you car runs no better, I would guess the fault lies elsewhere? Maybe the needle lift injector?

Re: Audi 80 tdi juddering bucking jerking
Hi Guys,
Just an update on my judder problem.
I dropped the car into a diesel mechanic who said the pump timing was out, he reset the timing (along with some other issues I had) and the juddering is 95% gone! I can still feel it through the seat, similar to a buckled wheel. He didnt clean out the pump (as I asked him to do!!) He said it didnt need it!!
I am still in agreement with others here that it is a swarf issue. Maybe the timing being out on mine didnt help matters!!.
The car is flying now compared to before. example - 100khp in 5th going up a hill approx 800meters long, the car would lose 25-3kph. Now, same hill, its accelerates up to 130+kph no problem.

Hi there all, I have just completed two of the full version of the "take it out and clean it". YES it worked on two of my Audi 80 with two more to do. Now, I searched for a definitive way to do this and all I found kinda left out odd bits so I will carefully log the next one if anybody wants to know. You can't do this without VCDs you will need alt least the free version to reset the IQ. You must have a soldering iron and the ability to use it, a good set of torqx keys and a careful approach. If I have to post this with pics I will need help.

Hello fellow Judderers/Ex Judderers!
This topic has been an excellent read, many thanks go to everyone who persisted with this and found the root cause of the issue. I had the same problem and I cleaned out the timing pump as per instructions. Working brilliantly now!
As there aren't many pictures of the different parts of the process I took a few as I was going along. Hopefully someone will find them useful when fixing the issue on their motor.
