Hi There, The compressor make is ZEXEL - I had to take the bl***y thing off to see the name plate. Trust this is O.K. I haven't used VAG-COM previously so you'll need to give Idiot proof instructions. Once again thanks.

To mod 1996 the code should be 00041 and from mod 1997 the code is 04041.To code the unit enter the climate controll 08 and then enter coding 07,You can now enter the above code and save.

Hi there,

Thanks for the info. I tried to input the codes over the weekend via VAG COM but it keeps coming up with an error when I select option 08 for the HVAC "too many communication errors unable to continue" - VAG COM seems to Auto scan for fault codes OK although I haven't let it complete the scan as it seems to take ages. Any suggestions to what is causing this?

I'am not too sure,as i work with VAS equipment.What version of VAG COM are you using?You could try and select each of the control modules 01, 03, 08, 46, 17,and erase any fault codes that are logged.
