Re: Temp gauge reading low
So far no more emulsion on the oil filler cap.
I've done the old trick of blanking half the radiator with a peice of card, got the temp half way between 50 and 90 with the vehicle stationary, this is better than I've managed before so I'm guesing the thermostat is stuck open.
Re: Temp gauge reading low
Hi can Anyone please help me? I'm new to the forum. It's really good!!
I'v got a A4 1.9TDI 2002. I'v recently noticed that my tep gauge reaches 90C in 10 mins but as i turn the heating up in the car the gauge starts to go down, it goes between 90C - 80C even at 70mph. can anyone please help?

Re: Temp gauge reading low
Thank you for replying. I'v had the car for 3 years it's never done that i'm sure i would'v noticed. The only time the temp goes down is when the car is stationary and i have the heating on. i'm just worried because winters hear and i will be be using the heater in the car and dont want to cause any damage to the car. I'm still baffeled that the temp goes down even if I'm driving at 70mph??
