Re: I've Got a Silver Machine
The tie downs I find very useful, the best way to make use of them is to invest in some bungee cords and loop them between hooks crossing the cords over the boot.
The elastic is excellent for holding down boxes or kids bikes or anything you don't want sliding about and you can leave them in place when not in use.
It's like a simple home made version of the boot net you can buy.
Cheers
Iain

I have a bag hook on both sides and use them fairly often, but they could do with being slightly bigger.

Thats it, I'm calling in to the dealer for my second bag hook - like Ionic I find them ideal for transporting the curry and stops bottles of vino and other 'spillables' rolling around in the boot if there are any good bends on the way home:D.
The tie-downs are already in use with bungy-straps to hold my box of get-you-out-of-the-s**t bits and pieces. I also have a perferated rubberised mat which rolls out to fit the whole floor of the boot to protect the trim and help stop things sliding about. Can't remember where I got it but it has lasted for about 4 cars and only cost a few quid.

Are we talking about the same things? Chrome-covered Hooks at the rear of the boot, under the tonnau cover? Flip out from vertical to about 45 degrees?
'cus everything I've hooked into mine has fallen out on the first corner. Standard supermarket style plastic bags and the like.
Can't say I rate them very highly myself....:(

I know what you mean, and as I said earlier, they could do with being a tad bigger - if the bag's handles are too big, for example, they are difficult to secure.
However, I know for a fact that a single Tesco bag with a bit of weight in it will hang very nicely indeed.:approve:
Re: I've Got a Silver Machine
Ive never had anything fall out.
The hooks in mine are quite large & are fixed to the "roof" of the boot, if you hook a standard carrier bag round both hooks, there's no way it can come off without ripping the bag.
