I think I probably will go down the cleaning route. I know for a fact if I go to Audi they will want me to remortgage my house and sell a leg.
I’m just confused as to why the regen never completes.
As an update...I had a 160 mile round trip for work yesterday. I first cleared the errors and then tried another forced regen before heading out. The regen stopped again after 300 seconds. While I was out I tried to keep the revs high (2500+). It took about 70 miles for the DPF light to go out. No errors on the way back and the start-stop function was working again.
It sounds to me like you need to give it an Italian tune up every now and then, driving economical all the time, keeping the revs low and exhaust pressure and temps low doesn't do anything any good. Booting it up a long steep hill keeping revs high (2k +) as you change gear should greatly increase exhaust pressure and temperature as everything works harder than normal driving, it should help clear it out so to speak.Quote:

Are you using proper fuel too? As in Shell? Cheaper fuels can burn less cleanly.
There you go then, a tankfull of Shell, a rant around the local housing estate and Bobs your uncle. No need to even get the spanners out.
