As some of you know I have been planning to retrofit Night Vision Assistant to my Q7 4M. Its a £2000 option on factory order and as my car was sitting on the forecourt when I bought it I didn't really have a choice.
Over the last couple of months I've been getting all the parts together and working out what needs to be done and I'm just about there. Parts have been sourced from ebay and my dealer (wiring etc).
I reckon its going to take me a whole day if not 2 to install as there is quite a lot of work (certainly more than my TV Tuner retrofit I did a couple of months back) but I'd be chuffed if I can pull it off.
One could argue its a waste of time but meh.. each to their own.
Will keep you posted as to how it goes if anyone is interested
Thanks
Andy
It's a £2000 option extra, do the parts end up cheaper or more?

Re: Night Vision RetroFit
It got a lot worse before it got better. This is stage 1 of 4. Its now complete. Dash fully back together and working as normal.
Attachment 31590
Stage 2 planned for sunday. Passenger seat needs to come out.
Mica - Parts and all will set me back about £650-700
Re: Night Vision RetroFit
Andy....only you....by the way loving the photos and looking forward to seeing end results
Re: Night Vision RetroFit
All that has to come out just to get the vc cockpit out. You need to run two new wires into the back to vc cockpit. So that's what all this was for. Nothing else.
Cheers Nemo. So far everything going to plan.
Re: Night Vision RetroFit
Andy, nobody can accuse you of being work shy, a mammoth project, looking forward to seeing end results on the 29th.

Thanks Gerry. Will keep you posted. It's not hard to do really, it's just time consuming!
