Key in the ignition, turn ignition on but dont start the engine. Press the unlock button for a couple of secs.
See if that works.
If not scan the car for faults.

Hi all
I also need some help with my key fobs. I have a 2005 a4 diesel saloon sline. Both my remote fobs do not work. When serviced at Audi recently i asked them to look, they didnt know. A mate mine who has vagcom also tried, vag is showing that there are 2 keys registered with the car but he couldnt get the fobs to sync and neither could leicester audi.
They said unlikely that both key fobs could be the problem. Said could be control unit.
So, my question, what could the problem possibly be? Audi charge arm and leg for control unit, what control would i be looking for buy from else where.
I have tried all the sync methods which also didnt work. Just need to try and sort it so i can sell the car.
Thanks in advance for the help.
yeah tried that method too with no joy one key works the other dont how do u scan for faults ?
You'll need someone to scan for you, assuming you don't have VCDS yourself.
Check our user location map here to see who is close to you - VWAF User Location Map - VCDS - Google Maps
I have a obd2 reader but guessing that wont work
It'll work, but not as well as VCDS.
Scan the car using the OBD scanner and post up any fault codes you find.
ok thanks mate ill get onto it asap
no codes came up mate just so many methods to try i dont know what i hav/havnt tried
My fob didn't work when I changed the battery so I put the key in the ignition and turned it on for a few minutes. It then opened the doors ok. Try it.
yeah tried that too as the key works everything except central locking
