Re: Have just bought an A6 avant 2.7 tdi S Line 2006
Picked up the car + all seems good.......very nice drive with a fantastic engine.
Other than trying to work out the various MMI / settings on the car, the only issue I've noticed is the rear window wash isn't working. I'm pushing the stalk away from me + can hear the motor running but no water coming out. The front windscreen + headlight wash is working fine + I've filled the fluid bottle up but still no joy.
Could there be a blockage or is there a separate bottle for the rear wash I've missed.
Re: Have just bought an A6 avant 2.7 tdi S Line 2006
STOP TRYING....it's a well documented fault that the piping to the rear wash fails/breaks and as this runs over the rear left side (think above the passenger side rear wheel arch) and over the amp/nav and other sensitive electrics. Check for leaks/breaks/dampness in this area as it's been known to cause ££££'s of damage. Search the forum for more on this subject.
Re: Have just bought an A6 avant 2.7 tdi S Line 2006
Thanks for advice MarkTM, much appreciated.
I've stopped using the rear washer for now. No damp / water in the front passenger footwell or underneath that seat, all ok in rear left zone that has the sat nav equipment etc also. The only thing I recall is there was water around the rear boot switch when I was trying to use it a few days ago, maybe the rear washer pipe has come loose? I'm gonna open up the rear boot assembly on the weekend + take a look. There was a good link that showed how to take it all apart.......I'll do a search.
Best case scenario if it's come loose, I'll re-attach it and try to secure it on somehow. If it hasn't come loose I'm a bit lost as what's happened.
I have checked with Audi UK + the say all manufacturer recalls are upto date on the car, wonder if they ever 'corrected it' on this car when it was getting serviced?
Also have noted that the garage that just serviced the car (35 miles away in York) have not reset the service indicator. What do you all think of something like this?
OBDII OBD2 Auto Car Oil Service Rest Tool For VAG VW Audi Skoda Seat Ford: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike
Don't fancy making a 70 mile round trip for a 5 minute job. Would that service reset gizmo be suitable for a 2006 A6 2.7tdi?

I agree plus you can make some beer money back by doing scans/adaptions for others too.

Re: Have just bought an A6 avant 2.7 tdi S Line 2006
I know what your saying about the VCDS, but for now I'd rather spend £10 instead of £263.......I've just had to part with serious £££'s to buy this car, so I'm way short of splashing out another £263 tbh. I think I will eventually buy it, but not yet.
Therefore would the service reset gizmo work as far as anybody knows? I used to have the equivalent for a BMW 320D I had a few yrs ago + it worked fine.

Re: Have just bought an A6 avant 2.7 tdi S Line 2006
^^^ My tuppence worth is it's less than 2 tanks of fuel, the ideal way not to spend any money on your new purchase it is to keep it spotlessly clean, go out and admire it and simply don't drive it! :biglaugh: Also if you do have to take it to a main dealer they'll still insist on a full scan and the charge that comes with it...even though you may have a print-off of yours in your hand...so for £10 just to service reset it's probs worth a punt
Re: Have just bought an A6 avant 2.7 tdi S Line 2006
Come on MarkTM, give me a break. I'm obviously gonna drive the car daily + look after it, I'd just don't like getting ripped off. I'll order the service reset tool + check out the rear washer this weekend.
I've also got the Gliptones leather seat cleaner / treatment you recommended, so I'll give that a go this weekend also.
So far so good tho......an awesome car overall. The BMW 320D I had was an awful car in comparison to this, well chuffed + very grateful.
Re: Have just bought an A6 avant 2.7 tdi S Line 2006
Kash was just my trick for the day...before starting with the gliptone cleaner wipe over your leather with a damp microfiber cloth...I usually leave the conditioner on overnight to soak in before buffing up...you'll probably not notice a difference if black leather, however it will feel different and smell rather nice too! :)
Re: Have just bought an A6 avant 2.7 tdi S Line 2006
Took a look at the rear washer problem I'm having, the hose is connected correctly to the rear washer assembly. There is no water / damp in the front passenger footwell or under that seat, all ok in the rear MMI / sat nav area also. I can hear the motor 'running' when I push the stalk.
Any ideas on what the issue may be?
