Re: Rear door 'black triangle' window trim?
I had to fit 2 new rear door glasses to mine and when I disassembled the doors the frame lifted out with the corner piece/trim still attached so still cant advise how it is held on. Removal wasn't necessary to change the glass.
I can only think that the door frame and glass has to be removed then the window seal pulled away to get the corner piece out. Seems ridiculous but don't know what else would explain a £400 labour charge.

Nope never got a part-number or anything...it was something I found on eBay but I can see it's no longer available
The one I had found was 4F0853274CY9B *N225
Which seems to match yours
Re: Rear door 'black triangle' window trim?
My cousin deals in used cars, turned out he phoned up Audi (Edinburgh I think) and has ordered me the two parts. The guy on the phone knew what we were talking about straight away, and said that they are attached by just one bolt, that you access from the interior of the door? I'll try and describe more when the parts arrive. A6 Chris, forgot to take those photos mate, but i'll get them done! Thanks for all the replies so far.
Re: Rear door 'black triangle' window trim?
there's a plastic trim on the inside as well so bolt could be behind that I guess.
this new information begs the question 'how come audi want 400 notes to fit them'? does the door still need to come apart?
Re: Rear door 'black triangle' window trim?
just found the answer to that....
Re: Rear door 'black triangle' window trim?
Looks easy eh ;-) Think a call to the local garage awaits.
Re: Rear door 'black triangle' window trim?
TBH you'd be surprised, if your handy it isn't that bad.... the first side might take an hour but once you've done it the second one is much quicker.

£37 inc vat from audi for the trim piece.
Took around 40 minutes to do.
Go on to audi's ErWIn site and pay 5 euro for 1 hr access with printing rights and print off the window frame removal instruction sheet.
bolt No.8 is not listed as to be removed it needs to come out.
It's listed in the refitting instructions.
£400 to audi to do, no way would I pay this.
Re: Rear door 'black triangle' window trim?
I've got the same issue of a corroding rear window frame triangle. Its A COMMON fault on these cars. I took it to Audi. The told me its part of the window frame and so not covered under Corrosion warranty. Its outrageous on a three year old car. I emailed Audi customer services twice, and guess what....NO REPLY.
Re: Rear door 'black triangle' window trim?
I have this too on my 2009 2.0 TDIE SE.
Anyone had success claiming on the corrosion warranty for this??
