Re: Arnott Gen II or Gen I
Hi, If you've got a bag leak, it will be on the lowest setting that it reveals itself.
Not sure what the error message is saying, but if you spray the soapy water around when on the lowest setting, you should find the leak....maybe even hear it if it's quiet..
Re: Arnott Gen II or Gen I
my two pence worth:
I left my allroad at level 1 overnight and the next day the front end had completely dropped, I left it at level 2 and everything was fine, I put it back into level 1 and within an hour the front end was dropping (the NSF noticeably more so) and I could hear a slight hissing sound coming from the bag.
the next day I dropped her down to level 1 and sprayed soapy water and had no bubbles at all (which then worried me) about 10 minuts later I noticed a tiny amount of bubbles appearing on the bag, these got more noticeable as time went by, my point is that the leak barely presented itself at first but the longer it went on the more noticeable it became.
Re: Arnott Gen II or Gen I
yes as the more it leaks the more the car lowers and the more the perrished part is opened hence more air leaks, yours must be in the early stages of leaking as it will start to leak at level 2 soon,
if the soapy bubbles have confirmed it is the rubber bag, change it for an Arnott one

Re: Arnott Gen II or Gen I
Found the leak, right at the bottom, looks like I may have caught it early as It was pure chance I sat her down on Level 1 normally she stays at level 2 .. Arnott bag is now ordered :)
Re: Arnott Gen II or Gen I
Arnott unit arrived this morning with associated bits and bobs and instructions.. Game on this Friday :)
Re: Arnott Gen II or Gen I
A tip would be Get that top pinch bolt scrubbed with a wire brush and plenty wd40 or similar soaked into it today, they can be stuck pretty tight, it may save a few swear words on friday ;)

Re: Arnott Gen II or Gen I
Yeah cheers Andy I've been soaking it everyday since Monday .. I'll nip out again now and give it another soaking :)
Re: Arnott Gen II or Gen I
Be careful how you tighten the brass nut and make sure you don't cross threads, the arnot base is plastic- that's a rubbish design compared to the audi ones ! Use a tiny/stubby 10 mm spaner and only nip it up !
Re: Arnott Gen II or Gen I
Yep the plastic mount is new & is poor, it certainly doesnt need to be tight, the old ones used to be an alluminium mount which was more acceptable, they should change it to a push type fitting, I fixed a touareg compressor that had a push fittings instead of the small brass threaded VOSS fitting, which I thought was a nice improvement.

Just looked at the Arnott one and looks like it's brass?
