Does anyone have the part code & apporx cost of the Sensor?
I believe 059 919 501A is the part number, replacing the old 078 919 501C number, not sure about the price here, but there are NI audi dealers on oempartfinder.co.uk selling them for £21.45 ex vat
Going to fit part tomorrow, had a look and seems a straightforward job :)
will I lose any/much coolant when I remove the old sensor?
When I swapped the sensor and sender between my two ABC V6 coupes, ( one hot and one stone cold ) I found that a very usefull tool was " the wife ".
Bonnet to bonnet each of us positioned at the grill, sensor out , finger in, swap parts, still lost a bit of fluid, one was too damned hot to care about and the cold one was in need of strengthening anyway, but only about a litre lost on each. You can buy ready mixed G12 plus at reasonable cost.
Good luck
Stuart
There some cheap g12 ++ on eBay going pick up only is the cheapest 8+ 1.5L bottles at only £40
Fitted new sensor today, no improvement in gauge position. Heats up to about high 80 degrees then drops back to mid 70's. Heater works great in the car as before.
