Welcome! Sorry to hear you're suffering the same problems. Which update version do you have? The last two updates both show Train K0022, MU 0047, but have slightly different version numbers in the Version Information screen. I'd guess you will see either HNav_EU_K0022_1_D1 or HNav_EU_K0022_2_D1. If you see the latter, you are up to the very latest Revision J update. The sad news is that neither of these releases fixes the "Now Turn Left/Take the Second Left/Take the Second Right" voice glitches, or the TP/TMC/radio tuning issues.
According to A8 Tech (who is a goldmine of useful information), the next MMI 3G software update is due for release sometime around June, and should be a fix for the voice guidance glitches. I don't know yet whether it will also fix the TP/TMC/radio, but I'm (as ever) optimistic! :)
In the meantime, you can use a couple of workarounds for the issues. In the nav settings, turn off the "Addit. Info" option and the silly "Now Turn Left/etc" problem goes away. In the radio settings, turn off the TP option and the TMC/radio retuning issues go away (but looking at your post again, you already have this turned off and don't see the problem, which is exactly as expected).
If you want to verify the TP/TMC/radio retuning issue exists on your car and get it reported to your dealer, I strongly suspect they will look blankly at you and say it's never been reported before. Drop me a line (PM) and I will be happy to send you the details of my car and dealer so they can get in touch and find out all the things my dealer has tried so far to fix the issue on my car.
By the way, Kite is a top bloke, but don't tell him I said so or it will only go to his head! :)
Cheers!
MF.
Thanks for the warm welcome and Kite is a decent bloke but his taste in floral design frocks leaves a lot to be desired. As for his ideas on accessories, the less said the better.:)
Been out in the car today, about 30 miles away. In that time I can confirm that I'm still being told to "now take the 2nd left" so no fix there. I did turn on TP to see if I had the same problem with TMC and the radio list but as far as I could tell these were OK - perhaps I would have to travel further. I did notice at one point the list of traffic problems lost the coloured road signs - these were there but greyed out. It was OK 15 minutes later.
Thanks for the offer of assistance. I think I'm going to put up with it until the new new software release and hope that fixes these problems.
One other thing on the sat nav if I may - occasionally I get two messages, one after the other and they are something like:
"Due to current traffic conditions, your route has been changed" and straight after
"An alternative route cannot be found".
Is this normal and if so, what does this mean?

Those wrinkly stockings and suspenders are a bit dodgy too, but I was too polite to point it out to him. :D
I'm not at all surprised - the "now turn left" glitch is still present on mine too. Have a go with "Addit. Info" turned off - this may preserve your sanity until the next update.
The TMC/tuning/TP issue does not really make itself apparent until you have travelled for a while - it always starts out working OK, but then disables at some indeterminate (and wildly differing) point. Sometimes it's after just 10 minutes, other times it can be OK for a couple of hours. It also helps to travel some distance too, so the radio retuning (or lack thereof) becomes noticeable.
I occasionally get these two together. The good news is that it means your TMC is working properly, and trying to reroute your journey to avoid delays listed on your original route. The bad news is that sometimes it can't work out a suitable alternative route, either because the reroute also has delays, or because the reroute would add too much time to the journey. It's nothing to worry about, though. If the reroute is successful, you will hear just the first of these two messages - I get this much more frequently than the two messages together.
Cheers!
MF.
Dear All
I am the proud owner of a new March 2010 reg A6 3.0 TDI Le Mans with the MMI HDD navigation.
It has only done 250 miles so far and I have already switched off the TP due to constant interruptions to music!
I have not noticed the radio issues as I have been getting to grips with the other media gadgets!
I also have the "turn second left" problem at roundabouts when the display clearly shows it is the first left.
I cannot also download the contacts from my iPhone 3g which is most annoying, despite my wife's iPhone ( same age of phone and 3.1.3 version) and the Audi salesman having success with their iPhones on my car. My phone successfully pairs with the A6 and shows previous calls etc.
My phone also successfully downloads it's contacts to my wife's Mercedes Comand system.
I reported this to Oxford Audi who supplied the car and they said they had never come across these issues before!
Here are the car's software versions:
Software version: HNav_EU_P0022_D1
Nav. Database version 8R0060884J ECE 5.10.5
This car is new hence I assume these versions are current?
The most irritating of the above is the iPhone- I have tried retiring the phone and resetting MMI; deleting received calls etc. with no joy.
Looks like you have another victim to add to your growing list!
Regards
Mark
Hi Mark,
Welcome to the forum! :)
Switching the TP off seems at first glance to be a good idea based on our findings, but then I have spotted that your car has a different (perhaps newer) software version that the rest of us, and I'm really intrigued. I have driven a car showing the same software version as yours a few weeks ago, but it was a brand-new A4 not an A6, and up till I saw your message I had assumed that HNav_EU_P0022_D1 was an A4-specific release. My car is currently on HNav_EU_K0022_2_D1. I also notice that you have the latest maps installed too - these will not be available to the rest of us until later this year - probably September time.
How many contacts do you have on your iPhone? Could it just be that it takes a while to download them all? I have also heard of issues with downloading contact lists from Blackberries which were caused by extremely large call history lists on the phone (received calls, missed calls, dialled calls etc) and were fixed by clearing down the call logs on the phone and re-pairing with the car. It may be worth a try with your iPhone?
You're welcome to join both the Le Mans Club and the A6 TDi Club too - links are in my signature below.
Hope you enjoy the new car! Did you order any other options apart from HDD Nav? Looking forward to seeing some pics too! :)
Best regards,
MF.
Dear MF
Thanks for the welcome!
There's a lot to read through on this thread!
I thought that the software versions may be of interest in your quest to find answers to these problems!
It seems then that the latest updates are still no help.
My car is booked in at Oxford Audi at the end of the month to look at these faults. Since reading yours and other excellent posts, I will be reluctant for them to start replacing windows and modules etc. unless they are sure this will cure the problem.
I do have over 200 contacts on the iPhone but so does my wife and her contacts appear very quickly on the A6; unlike mine.
I have tried clearing everything off the iPhone: received calls; missed calls etc. and reset the MMI and restored the iPhone but nothing makes any difference.
What is the Le Mans Club? Will it help me get my iPhone contacts onto the Audi?!!!
The car is fantastic apart from the MMI glitches and is as follows:
Phantom black pearlescent with privacy glass;
19 " 7 double spoke wheels:
black milano leather;
BOSE;
3G HDD Nav and AMI;
bluetooth telephone connection;
rear parking sensors
I shall keep you in touch with new developments.
In the meantime I am trying not to be too heavy footed- the torque this car has available is addictive!
Regards
Mark
The phones currently available on the market do not support a uniform industry-wide interface standard enabling access to the contacts stored in the mobile phone.
If your phone book is not displayed correctly in the vehicle, the problem may be solved as follows:
[LIST][*]Avoid the use of symbols (@, €, &, #, *,...) in the name and number.[*]Try synchronising your mobile phone again with your PC.[*]The sorting order of the entries is specified by the mobile phone. Especially in the case of phones with Windows Mobile 5, entries are sorted according to first name.[*]Make sure that each contact is given at least one name and one number.[*]The maximum number of phone numbers in the vehicle is restricted to 1000 for the Audi Q7, A6, A8 and A5 with navigation system, and to 500 for the A2, A3, A4, TT, R8 and A5 without navigation system.[*]It is possible that only contacts from the mobile phone’s “Standard” group in the phone book are transferred.[*]It is possible that phone number types (private, mobile, business) are not transferred. With some mobile phones, only one number per contact (standard number) is transferred.
