If you want my help I'll need a bit more information than that
Pictures/Videos/Autoscan of your car would be a good start.
Hiya Andy I’m looking at retro fitting night vision in to my Audi A8 2010 d4 I’ve been reading your post and I’m hoping to do the same but unsure where to start and what to buy first and how much do you think it will rufly cost as I was thinking of buying the parts here and there till I have everything before I start it any help would be much appreciated many thanks John
pinged you a PM mate.
Andy
Well I gave in to the inevitable and decided on one last mod :approve:.
After a few months collecting the parts went to see the great man again and my car is now capable of detecting heat emitting objects in the dark, aka night vision.
The install went reasonably well after fighting with the bumper for over an hour trying to remove it, but we managed (with the help of wd40 and brute force).
Andy was a great host as ever providing tea and chocolates along the way!
Very happy with the quality of the install and the way everything is neatly and tidily tucked away as per OEM.
I can’t use the NV yet as it requires calibration from the dealer, however car is recognising the system and there are no faults. :D
I did however drive home with NV on in test mode, lol.
The brains and camera were bought on eBay with the rest from the dealer. Since the camera is used on other Audi models they can be had cheaper on eBay. Total cost including installation was about £1k + calibration cost. Just the camera alone is £2k from the dealer :aargh4:, so a good price considering.
Thanks for installing this mod for me Andy :beerchug:, really appreciate your work, effort and passion for doing all my installs. Not only that but also helping me if I’m stuck on any other car issues.
Cheers @inchshort - Always a pleasure and thanks for kind words @Nemo78
Yep, was a good NV install, completely Factory OEM install and took around 7 hours. The bumper was tough but down to lodged dirt and so forth more than anything. First time I've seen a car owner vacuum their front bumper while its off :D
All working as expected and coded appropriately. Just left to get official calibration done at the dealer.
Put some pics below of points of the install
Cheers
Andy

Congrats on getting it done InchShort! Enjoy the NV.
Gonna be me next :) Finally got all my parts for Side Assist and NV, now just counting down the days for the visit to the great man himself!
That’s great new jldiablo. Side assist is the one mod that has proved really helpful and gives you that extra assurance when changing lanes.
If you haven’t got it already have you considered dimming side mirrors at the same time? Had mine installed by Andy when someone broke one of my side mirrors. The dimming works really well.
Yes Nemo78 we are indeed very lucky to have a person like Andy on this forum who goes out of his way to help others and genuinly has a passion for his work and won’t let you leave him until you’re absolutely happy! Thanks Again Andy.
Hey man, thanks! I think the mirrors on my Q already have the dim functionality, I agree really helpful to have! The problem is that there are other tempting options - TV, soft close doors, load fixing kit... too damn many of them lol!! oh well, one at a time (or two at a time in my case)...
Again, I would like to echo on how lucky we are to have Andy here. Andy's been great helping me out collecting parts in the past few months, can't wait to meet him in person! :)
ps: My Q is a white one just like yours ;)
