Advice needed on Engine Tuning

Ok, After buying a 1998 Passat SE 1.8 Turbo. I thought about changing a few things on the car. The first thing - was a plain debadged grill, Im now looking for wheels, remap and dump valve. However i have questions about all the above.

First off - Wheels, im looking for 18" (i think) but thats as far as i've got. i dont want the usual Audi wheels. something to match the car but plain - nothing outstanding. Any ideas?


The Remap - whats the best chips or remaps out there?

And the dump valve - this is the mod i would like to go for first. (I would like something that i could fit myself, looks easy enough.) i though the dv30 or the 007. but my problem starts as to which one, i want something that makes the woosh noise. i quiet like it... i've read conflicting storys about the dv30 saying it makes the sound but then others say is recurculating which doesn't make a noise?????? :confused: :confused: as you can see my knowlodge is very minimal.

Any help would be greatly appeciated as im pulling my hair out having the money put aside but no idea what to buy...

have you tried buying PERFORMANCE VW and talking to some of the traders in it....or jabba sport...they seem to be good from what i have read from other peoples experience's

there is a chap on here that has remapped for a few people, they seem happy with the results

The recirculating dump valve does exactly what it says on the tin, it recirculates the excess pressure back into the intake system. The Other type (atmospheric type) is the type that makes the whoosh noise.
