Hi
I have a 1997 Mk3 Golf 1.6 GL (AFT). I have been having an issue when I start the car in that the revs will shoot right up to about 1500rpm for about five seconds or so and then settle down again, its gradually got worse over the last 3-4 months. It idles o.k probably not as smooth as it should do, could the throttle body need cleaning? and if so is it something that can be done without taking it off.
Any advice would be helpful.
