VW Polo 2003 1.2
Over the last couple of months, a rattling noise has started occurring under the bonnet. It is quite audible from inside the car. However, it is only when the car is stationary. Once the car is moving, the rattling noise stops. When you leave the car the running and check outside it sounds like it is coming from the front of the car somewhere.
Bear in mind, this car has only done 13,000 miles.
Cheers

Re: VW Polo 2003 1.2
Had a rattle in the front of my 1.2, turned out to be the plastic housing on the front of the air intake. The flexipipe from the air filter has a plate that clips into a square housing fixed onto the front of the car. This plate tended to vibrate and I had to put some insulaing tape on the little sprag clips that hold the plate into the housing, packing it tightly into place.
It wears out eventually so have to do this a couple of times
