LED Interior Ligh Upgrade

Hi,
I have just upgraded the interior lights in my wife's Golf from the standard Festoon/Capless Filament type lamps to LEDS.

They improve the light level an enormous amount, one small wrinkle though when off the LEDS still glow albeit at a very very low level.
There's no issue with the battery unless of course you leave the car for a few weeks but has anybody else experienced this and are there any solutions outh there?
Any help would be much appreciated.
