A6 2.7t Track rod adjustment.
Hi, just had my car in for wheel alignment.
They checked & said it was out by 1.5 degrees i think,
but couldnt adjust because it was seized.
looking at home will i need to remove the track rod,
or should it turn after slackening the lock nut
wd40? maybe heat?.Replys appreciated, thanks.

An alignmnet specialist could not unseize a track rod end. Oh dear, oh dear. I assume this was a toe in/out problem. Regards Peter

Not an alignment specialist, just a small tyre shop
with old fashion guages and an apprentice doing the job.
Oh well you live & learn.

hi mate,
you should be able to do it without heating, if it doesn't work, get the gaz out !

You take a an Audi with complex alignment geometry to a small tyre shop with 'gauges'. Regards Peter

i share this opinion aswell, i am a mechanic and we have the kind of stupid wheel alignment too, and i refuse to do it because it is just waste of time and it will not be set up propely, think twice before you get back to them, this could cost you a lot with the tyre geting worn out quicker and the grip of the car on wet roads .
