Audi A6 ABF Engine Swap - Few Q's?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, well been signed up for a while but never posted!

I'm doing an engine swap on my 1998 Audi A6 2.5 TDi AFB manual transmission engined Avant.

Basically the cambelt slipped three teeth, so i'm replacing the whole unit.


I've found an 1998 Audi A4 with a 2.5 TDi, AFB coded engine to buy and break. However its an Auto transmission car,

will the crank be different when swapping over??

Any info is much appreciated..

They gave the same crank,make sure the needle bearing is OK

Went into my local TPS after work and they confirmed it was the same aswell! :)

Wheres the needle bearing located?

In the center and at the flywheel end The bearing is a bearing for the clutch shaft
