Can i swap my auto gearbox and ecu with another model B5?

Hi guys,

My drama started when driver footwell on Audi A4 1.9 tdi se 2000 auto flooded and wrecked the Gearbox ecu......... long story now my gearbox has packed up!

I can't find a cheap replacement gearbox (EZP) or matching ecu (Bosch no: 0260 002 674) ?

Spoke to a few vag breakers and one told me it's been a long time since he saw my model! and i'm loosing hope with it and recon gearbox is £1200 ish and replacement ECU is £630+vat from *******'s

I'm looking at £2000-£2500 and that's the cars value!

Just wanted to know can i swap box to an update 6 plate Auto box and ecu to the car and what do i need to do to get my main engine Ecu to communicate with gearbox Gearbox ecu, will main dealer reset it for me and how much or are there any independent garages that offer the service of reprogramming if i take my Both ECU's to them?


Please helped or else im shafted and not sure if insurance will cover it.
