KR/PG engine swap project

Hi guys, havnt posted in a while but I got a thought that I think is best to discuss first, just in case!

I've got an '88 golf gti, 16v (kr engine) and everything is original to the car, but in an attempt to spice up my life a little i'm planning on re-building a G60 (pg) engine.

I was wondering if theres anyone out there who has attempted this before, or if anyone has any important information i should know before i start:P I'm aware i'll have to change the fuel arrangement, going from k'jet to digi, but does anyone know if the gearbox will meet up the same? Any input at all is very welcome! thanks!
