Question

]Blown turbo onT5 130 tdi 43000 miles.
Changed oil 2 months ago. then last month had to replace waterpump and change long life oli again. Now loss of power. Removed the exhaust hose and realisied the shaft in the turbo has broken Brought it to vw, paid them to diagnose the turbo had blown. They tell me its €1800 to repair because it is Out of warranty:zx11: Has anyone any ideas why turbo gave up at such low milage and why VW wont help (FSH for first 3 years until they robbed me of €300 for wheel alingment on Audi tt) Always used genuine parts

If there was water in the oil,that would bugger the turbo

Oil was changed with water pump. If that was the case all T5's would probably blow turbo after faiing water pump

It all depends, how long the water was in the oil,before you noticed it.

First week it used about a cup ful of water, just thought it was low.
Second week it went low with another cup full. Then we investigated and pump was changed
