central locking problem, not control module!
I've had a problem with my central locking for a while now i just can’t get to the bottom of it. I thought I might need to replace the control module so after finally finding one I popped it it and I still had all the same problems. The faults codes are below and just wondered if anyone can help with this or if someone has had the same problem and managed to fix it?
Appreciate any help!!!!!!!

Re: central locking problem, not control module!
So what exactly is the problem, model, year etc.Yes i can see the fault code for the rear left door!Cheers!
Re: central locking problem, not control module!
Well it's an A4 2.0 petrol 2001 B6.
It all started with the doors locking and then unlocking every now and again, also the hazards started flashing for no reason. It gradually got worse when the cetral locking stopped working from the remote and now only the front doors open with the key (back doors can't be opened at all even from inside the car) and the petrol cap lock sometimes stops opening.
On the dash computer, when i open a front door the oposite door is displayed on the screen?
I thought it was the central locking control module but after getting a new one and replacing it - it still had all the same problems!
I appreciate any help as it's driving me crazy!
Cheers Dan

Looks like it's lost the module coding as all set to zero??
Maybe this is the problem??
Have you checked what your coding should be for your model and spec.?
example: For me it's 06891
Re: central locking problem, not control module!
I haven't checked, how would I find out?
Thanks
Dan

Check out the ROSS-TECH website - it's all there under module 46.
Here is a link to the specific page......
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/audiB6.html
Did you have a VAG-COM dump before you replaced the Convenience Module (#46), and what was this coding ?
Without the correct coding you will have all sorts of problems!
Re: central locking problem, not control module!
Cheers for that mate, i have no idea what the code was previously, can it be worked out by adding up each option? really havent gota a clue about this.
Do you really think thats what all the problems could be? Will a garage be able to sort it?

With the right tools this is pretty easy to do - i.e. Full version ROSS-TECH with genuine cable. All the info on how to make the settings for this module are as previously linked - it is generally a combination of adding numbers together to get the right coding, and there a few other channels you need to make settings in also depending on spec. etc..
Without the right coding you are going to make a load of problems!
The convenience module communicates with all doors, instrument cluster, Engine ECU, Engine, Radio, Remote keys, and probably other items. So if it does not know what to communicate with regard to your spec. then many errors will keep popping up.
Also, did you replace the convenience module with exactly the same part number - including revision number, as this can also give you problems - I've heard.
I had problems where my convenience module was giving me unlock & electric window problems - bought the ROSS-TECH Cable kit - best purchase I ever made for my Audi - paid for itself by just replacing this module alone I reckon. (Bought from the US ~£200 when £1=$2). Solved other issues, made changes to spec. and undertaken quite a few Retrofits with this cable - Saved a fortune and learned alot about the car.
:biglaugh:
Where you based? Perhaps somebody nearby with a Genuine Cable can help @ Beer rates?

Re: central locking problem, not control module!
I might just bite the bullet and get the full version of vag com then, my old man is moving over to the audi club so might be able to get him to chip in. Im in Cardiff but hav no idea of anyone around here with one!
Re: central locking problem, not control module!
I've now changed the control module and recoded it, it got the dash computer showing the right door is open now and the interior light is working again but it i'm still getting the fault code 01333 and 01334 with the back rear doors and it is saying there is no communication.
Any ideas on this? could it be an earth issue?
