Clutch Pedal Sensor?
I've just completed installing a retro-fit cruise control kit to my 2000 TDI Passat, took it out for a test drive after activating it in VAGCOM and it didn't work.
Checked the clutch/brake pedal sensor switches in measuring blocks in VAGCOM and noticed that the clutch is showing as being permanently depressed (the binary value doesn't change whichever position it's in).
I understand the 3 digit field should be 0 0 0 when all pedals are at rest and should change to 1 0 0 when the clutch is pressed - however VAGCOM shows the switch as 1 0 0 all the time.
I've rung my local VW garage to order a new clutch pedal switch and have been told there is no such thing?!
From what I've read on here it seems there IS a pedal switch/sensor on various models of VW including the Passat so is it just my local VW garage that are useless numpties?!

Re: Clutch Pedal Sensor?
According to the wiring diagram models with manual gearbox have a F36 clutch pedal switch from August 1997

Re: Clutch Pedal Sensor?
thanks for that - rang another VW garage and enquired there about the part.
Sure enough they knew what I was talking about and gave me the part number. So I've rang my local VW garage and asked for a clutch pedal switch again - to be told the same again - so I gave them the part number. Amazing silence ensued!! :smashfrea
Can't wait to go collect the part - think I might ask them what it is - maybe it has a different name at VW!
Thanks again :)
