Xenon Bulbs

Hey,

I recently got a A3 S-Line 2.0 TDI. I am after the Xenon look - however have either been quoted a huge amount OR been told that the ECU will not like a HID/Xenon conversion kit.

What bulbs out there give the same appearance and driving enhancements of a proper/factory fitted Xenon system?

Anyone got any idea for a great (and as close to xenon looking) replacement for standard halogen bulbs?

Your right about aftermarket kits, these will blow your wipe motor controller. They're also illegal to use in the UK though the seller will rarely mention this. Apart from the beam pattern being all wrong, xenon lights on cars need head light washers & be connected to a self leveling mechanism. It would be a road traffic offense to drive a car without them.

Not sure how much chance you are of being pulled unless your obviously blinding on coming cars though.

There are no bulbs that will give even close to the same level of light output that xenons have. Sorry but i dont know what normal bulbs are good but IIRC Philips do make one that is better than standard.
