Some newbie questions 2.7tdi quattro

If I were sat at home I'd have all the engine codes to hand and be able to do a little more digging myself......

But I'm stuck in the Middle East for another four weeks and have some questions burning a hole in my mind, hopefully someone can help...

Cam belt or cam chain, I've no idea what a '55 2.7 tdi V6 has, sorry for lack of engine code, does anyone know off the top of their head?

Time/mileage or long life servicing, my car is 3 yrs old, so how do I tell which service schedule it's been running under? Is it as simple as looking at the service book, services every 10000 mile or random figures, 16000, 14000 etc?

I guess the service schedule has an effect on which oil has been used in the engine, or do they use the same stuff for both?

Engine oil breather, one of BMW's failures on it's diesels in the past was to not specify a breather change into services. Does one of the Audi services cover this or is it a vortex style filter?
