Re: 2002 Passat Door Problem
The wires sometimes get damaged where they run from the B post into the door. The only way to find the fault is door trim off and test for power at the solenoid when the central locking is applied.

Thanks martin1810
I have had the door trim off, but found no evidence of power anywhere. I shall follow the loom back into the pillar and beyond.
Re: 2002 Passat Door Problem
Have a look inside the rubber sleeve between the door and car B post there are two connector blocks inside. It is possible that one of these have pulled apart.
Pull the rubber sleeve off the plastic oval ring on the B post side of the car. A little bit of a fiddle to refit the lip of the sleeve back over the plastic oval ring, but just a matter of streching the rubber around and over.

Thanks mwvw, I'll check it out when my wife brings the car home from work.
Re: 2002 Passat Door Problem
Hi
Thanks to mwvw I have found the fault with the lack of power. Under the rubber boot between the door and the pillar are 2 connector blocks. The top one is the speaker connector and the bottom one is for the power to the window winder, the central locking and the courtesy light. The bottom connector had fallen out. I cleaned and dried the boot and connectors, replaced them and everything is now ok.
Thanks again.
