Cabrio roof pump help Pls!
My cabrio roof pump has a leak, not sure due to what. The leak is evidant now the question is how do you lower the hood in "manual mode" I have tried to rotate the toggle on the side of the pump anti clock wise but it just wont move, its very tight.
Does the ignition needs to be on for it to rotate or am I missing something here?
Has anyone else had a leaking pump and what could be the cause..
Your help is highly appreciated.:1zhelp:
Re: Cabrio roof pump help Pls!
hi - once you have turned the t-bar anti-clockwise until it stops you then have to lift the roof manually [the manual says at the same speed as if it was working electrically]. The t-bar is not used to 'wind' the roof up or down.
Re: Cabrio roof pump help Pls!
Hi jono74uk, I have tried to turn the t-bar anti clock wise but it just wont budge. Can I use a pair of pliers and some force?
The roof goes down about halfway when I tried to take down gently. After that point it just refuses to go down.
Thanks,

Re: Cabrio roof pump help Pls!
does it move in the other direction? [Just wondering if it was already by-passed?]
Re: Cabrio roof pump help Pls!
No it does not move at all. I took it before to a specialist he checked it our and said that he will fill up the fluid as he had done a year ago. Only this time the liquid pored out as soon as we pressed the roof button.
Could he have done something to the T-bar? He asked me to leave the car with him for a day or two so he can open it all out and tell me what is wrong with it.
I am hopeing for a cheaper option at present. I am well used to the MK I cabrio so opening by hand is no problem.
