Hi, I recently bought a late 05 5door 1.4 petrol Polo for my other half. As an A4 driver, I was disappointed to find no information displayed in the Polo.
Is it possible to retro-fit an information system to show average MPG and miles left in tank etc etc?
How many MPG do you expect from a carefully driven 1.4?

Probably but it is incredibly complex trying to work out which panel you could use, there are pages of the things! You would have to change the column stalk and the panel would have to be coded in as well as some wiring mods so yes it can be done but I would not like to think how much it would cost. Finding a panel used would make sense as the switch and wiring could be taken out of the donor.

You should consider a ScanGaugeII. I had one of these before, very handy. Reads engine stats including instant and tank MPG and can read/reset fault codes on your car too!

An imported one from the US would run you about £118. That's what I did, but imported from Greece :)
