Palm Treo 750 Connection to MMI
Was lucky enough to get my new A4 2.7TDi Avant a couple of days ago. Very pleased with it, but can't help thinking I should have traded some spec for the auto box...
Have been struggling to connect my Palm Treo 750 to the MMI. Seemed to work for a few seconds, but it all went wrong when the address book started to transfer. A failure message appeared on the phone, which suggests its more a phone problem to me.
Any help appreciated! I've seen plenty of stuff on here on the Palm Treo 650, but not the 750.
My (last) option will be to get a 2nd sim card an dust off a trusty old nokia.
Thanks

I don't claim to undrstand any of this as it all looks very complicated!! All I can say is that I have a Treo 500 (a windows based device like yours) and it works fine with the phone system in my car.
I don't think I have every transferred the address book, the car just reads it off the phone I think........

Odd that it can support the similar 650 but not the 750...
Like your comment that "best A4 was the B6". That was my previous car. Looked great in black with the 17" 5 spoke alloys and had amazing fuel economy and performance (1.9 TDi 130ps). Trouble was the sports suspension, which was truly awful. The new B8 I have on std suspension is a much better ride.
Cheers

Good luck and the link for the phones approved will be updated in the first quarter of 2009

A couple of things to try...
Make sure the Palm is powered on and on an external supply. Palm Treo 750V's had a history of problems with Parrot kits, if you didn't have them on an external supply..
Secondly, make sure you have something in the name field for everything you are syncing. I've come across issues if you only have a "Company Name" populated and no name for a phone book entry... (However, these comments are untested for Audi BT interfaces - but they will be by Saturday when my new car arrives..)
