A3 - Couple of questions from new owner

Hi,

I've just bought an A3 1.8 3dr Sport and have a few questions/advice if possible.

1. The rear windscreen wiper and pump isnt working (didnt check before I bought it, stupid me) and turns out it's been disconnected. When it's reconnected it just keeps on sweeping and regardless of whether it is on at the controls. It also doesnt seem to know where the "stop" point is, as it keeps going on to the body work. Has anyone else had this problem or is it basically shot, requiring a new unit - or could it be something simpler?

2. When I am driving the car, it goes really well and I love it :biglaugh: , however sometimes it seems that it doesnt deliver power - for example the more I depress the accelerator it seems to increase power then it will dip, until I have the pedal to the floor, and it then flies again. Wasnt sure if this was just my driving style (quite possibly).
