Attainable, economical and cost effective 2006 A6 TDI models now offer even more choice

• New luxury pack available for V6 and V8 A6 models until September 30th
• Distinctive new exclusive line interior treatment available from August 1st for all A6 models
• 2.7 TDI model is the diesel prestige executive car with the lowest running costs in the class, and until September 30th is available with quattro four-wheel-drive at no extra cost when combined with tiptronic automatic transmission

As the price of a gallon of petrol exceeds the milestone £4 mark this week, Audi Centres across the country are registering unprecedented interest in the A6 TDI range, which features the UK’s most economical and cost-effective premium executive diesel models. The ten versions in the current range are available to order now for delivery in time for the September registration change.

The line-up features a four-cylinder 2.0-litre model and two V6 versions with 2.7-litre and 3.0-litre engines equipped with advanced Piezo fuel injection for optimum efficiency. With the aid of this technology, and an accessible OTR price of £26,845 the A6 2.7 TDI stands out as the six-cylinder executive diesel with the lowest running costs in the premium sector (52.99ppm)*. Of the six-cylinder prestige executive diesels, it also boasts the best value retention over 3 years or 60,000 miles, at 47.46%*.

Until September 30th, the A6 2.7 TDI is available with quattro permanent four-wheel-drive for ultra-secure roadholding at no extra cost when optional tiptronic automatic transmission is specified, making this model an even more sound business proposition.

The luxury of adaptive four-wheel air suspension is also available as an optional extra costing £1,500 for front-wheel-drive and quattro A6 TDI SE models, with the exception of the A6 2.0 TDI SE.

In addition, all V6 and V8 A6 models can now be ordered with a new Luxury Pack that includes Volterra full leather upholstery, front seat heating, rear acoustic parking and an upgraded LED interior lighting package. The package costs £1,250 for V6 SE models, £975 for V6 S line sports versions and is free of charge for the 4.2 quattro SE and S line. This package price represents a saving of up to £750 compared with specifying the options individually.

The A6 2.7 TDI can cover the 0-62mph increment in 8.1 seconds, reach a top speed of 140mph and return a potential 39.8mpg, giving a range of up to 613 miles on a single tank of diesel. An impressively low CO2 output of 190g/km equates to a tax liability of 25 per cent for business users, resulting in a comparatively modest benefit-in-kind charge of £2,684 per annum.

The incentives to divert to the diesel pump become still more appealing in the A6 2.0 TDI SE Saloon with six-speed manual transmission. Priced from £24,535 OTR, this model ranks not only as the most affordable executive diesel car in the premium sector, but also combines strong turbo-boosted performance with class-leading economy and tax efficiency for business users. Delivering up to 44.8mpg, it offers a potential range of up to 690 miles on a single tank of diesel, while a comparatively low CO2 output of 169g/km results in a low 20% tax liability equivalent to £1,946.96 per year for a 40 per cent tax payer.

Audi exclusive line packages create an even more bespoke A6
From August 1st A6 customers will also have even more opportunity to personalise their cars as a new exclusive line package adds to the wide variety of trim, upholstery and equipment options already available for the range. The exclusive line package includes full Valcona leather upholstery with seat side sections in black and centre panels in a choice of Classic Red, Silver or Cognac colour schemes. These are combined with door trim inserts colour coded to the seat centre sections, black floor mats with colour coded piping and colour co-ordinated stitching for the leather steering wheel trim, gear knob and gaiter. Brushed matt aluminium facia inlays and Audi exclusive line door sill trims also add to the specially tailored feel.

The exclusive line package will cost between £1,300 and £2,800, depending on engine and trim level. It will also be available for most versions across the A3 and A4 ranges from August.
