Aircon code 01232

Hi All
The Aircon on my 04 A6 (1.9 TDI AWX engine) hasnt been working recently,
I've been trying to get to read error codes for a while and been getting the too many communications errors that aparantly is common with the HVAC controller but last night it got to read the codes. (once out of about 50 attempts :aargh4:)

The code found was 01232 N280 A/C ompressor regulator valve open or short to ground.

The timing belt was changed on it recently, I've seen on some other aircon posts a problem with loose wiring following a timing belt change
could this code be thrown up by something like that or is it more likely to be a compressor fault.

The way this car has been for me it probably is a compressor fault :biglaugh:

Finally got to have a poke around under the car at the weekend and the connector going to the compressor is smashed (my guess...by the guy who did the timing belt).
Its funny how the free end was neatly clipped up out of the way to the side of the radiator dont think that happened accidentally :biglaugh:
Need to get a new connector then its fingers crossed that it works again.

Got the connector, fitted it and now i have cold air again yipeeee :beerchug:
not that i'm likely to need it seeing as we seem to be in monsoon season at the moment.

Now if only i could fix that damn vibration problem.
