Re: A3 2.0 FSI 53 Misfire.
Hi - Local Audi service dept are working on my misfire as of yesterday morning 25th, until Sat morning 27th.
Whilst I was there the Master Tech told me he suspects it's not a misfire but the FSI engine changing from one mode to another (I forget the correct terminology he used).
According to him it's a common source of complaint. Audi have made available software to correct it at the exspense of a slight increase in fuel comsumption.
Thinking about it, it could explain away a couple of symptoms but not all of them. Personally I think there's a problem with the Choke assembly.
Has anyone heard of this before?
And if so, does the software stop the FSI from being an FSI ie; does the engine now only have one mode?
Posting this mainly to pass on info but at least one reply would be nice even if it's just to say hello!
