limp home mode

limp home mode, what the hell is that and why does it keep happening

right ive found out, it is when the car finds a problem and the ecu turns off all the car dose not need and allows you to drive home, you cant go over 3000 revs without it kicking in and the car is fine as long as i dont go over that limit, is it just me or were cars easier when no computers controlled the bloody thing
