A6 1.9 Final Edition steering
Hi - Audi virgin alert!
I'm coming from a Saab 9-5 2.0t petrol estate and just had my first drive a high mileage (130k) A6 1.9 Final Edition CVT Avant.
The car has been fully serviced by Teeside Audi including the major 120k service in October last year.
All seems to work (I have a copy of all the work done since new @ £7.5k :aargh4: Alternator + PAS replaced @ 107k) and the engine seems fine with no white smoke with the car pulling fine (bit of a drop from existing 210bhp to 130!) however, the steering seems exceedingly heavy throughout the radius. Is this normal?
It's also only sold with 1 month's warranty with an additional 1 year for £250 - is there a better option (Audi want over £1550) that is affordable?
Am I going for a lemon?!
Many thanks for your help!
Re: A6 1.9 Final Edition steering
i have owned 3 audi's and all have had lovely steering and not heavy at all.
traders must give you at least 3 months warrenty by law.
Re: A6 1.9 Final Edition steering
Pop to another audi garage and test drive another one. They are not heavy. If the PAS has been changed were they the right parts and what colour fluid was in the PAS header tank. Something is wrong. Regards Peter
Re: A6 1.9 Final Edition steering
Thanks to you both - it looks like fate had a hand after all, as the car has been sold to another punter!
Still on the lookout for a Final Edition then...
