just wondering if you could help i am buying a y reg gt tdi 115 at 96000 for £4999 and was wondering if there is any problems i need to look out for.
i currently own a golf mk4 1.6 and i have had a lot of problems especially having to replace the gearbox at a cost of a grand. will i have the same problems or not when conisidering the tdi is 6 speed? so different box presumably?

I just bought one the same y reg 115bhp last month and i had problem with the cylinder head and spent £1.5k to do it.
when you check the car see in the cooler tank that there is no bubbles coming from the return pip wich comes from the engine (on top).
+ see there is no water in the oil or oil in the water.
Take it for a drive and try all the gears, usualy they go on limp mode on top gears.
